14th Motherwell Rainbows

Rainbows is the youngest section of Girl Guiding in the UK. They are between the ages of 5 and 7. At the age of about seven, a Rainbow will usually become a Brownie. In the UK, Rainbows started in 1987.

Rainbows learn by doing – they get their hands dirty, do sports, arts and crafts and play games. Through taking part in a range of different activities with girls their own age, Rainbows develop self-confidence and make lots of new friends.

As a Rainbow Leader working with five- to seven-year-old girls you have the opportunity to work with the girls who are the foundation and starting point of Girlguiding. The Rainbows’ programme is called the Rainbow Jigsaw to reflect how the varied Rainbow activities link to create a larger balanced picture.

The Rainbow Jigsaw is made up of four different pieces – Look, Learn, Laugh, Love.

We currently have 15 girls and 3 leaders. We also have a waiting list.
